A starter for Ray Linn’s Governor Mifflin Mustangs. He was instrumental in them becoming a Tri-County League power and was an All-Berks selection as both a linebacker and offensive guard (1959 & 1960). He was named Berks County Player of the Year as a senior. Jack went on to become a two-way starter at Albright College, earning All-League honors as a linebacker (1963-64). After brief stints as an assistant coach under Ray Linn at Mifflin (1968-70) and Bob DiPipi at Muhlenberg (1971-73), Jack became the head coach of the newly-formed Wyomissing Area High School (1974) and produced the program’s first winning season, going 5-4. He coached the Spartans for 13 seasons, compiling an overall record of 81-43-5 with only one losing season. His teams won the Inter-County Championship (1984, 1986) and made their first appearance in the District III playoffs (1986). After taking a year away from coaching, Jack became the head coach at Governor Mifflin (1988) and stayed in that capacity for three seasons. Overall, he was a head coach for 16 seasons and won 89 games.
