The late Mike Reitz, Wilson Class of ’68, was an All-State football player for the Bulldogs. He led Wilson to its first undefeated season in ’67, when he rushed for 1,274 yards to set the school career record with 2,257. He was named to the Big 33 team. He also was the Berks heavyweight champion in wrestling. He went on to play at Penn State and Maryland, setting the PSU record for extra points in a season. He was the first Wilson player to have his jersey (No. 32) retired and was inducted into the Wilson Sports and Berks football Halls of Fame.
