A graduate of Wilson High School, Bruce distinguished himself as a two-time All-Berks quarterback (1970-72), a three-year basketball starter, and a four-year starter on the Bulldog baseball team. He continued his athletic career by playing football at Chester University. His coaching tenure includes five years with the West Lawn Owls baseball team and football coaching positions at Reading High School, Albright College, Roanoke VA High School, and Wilson High School. Since 2002, he has served as the head coach at Lancaster Catholic, achieving an impressive 88-23 record over nine seasons. Under his leadership, the Crusaders secured the 2009 state PIAA title and he was subsequently named Pennsylvania Coach of the Year. Additional accomplishments include District 3 titles in 2005, 2008, and 2009, along with service on the Executive Board of the National Strength Coaches Association.
