Benny was the top high school sprinter in Berks County for Governor Mifflin in the early 1980’s holding county records in the 100 yd. and 200 yd. dashes (9.9 in 100 yd.) He earned a football scholarship to West Virginia University where he earned his degree. He was the WVU track team captain and MVP with a school record in the 400 meters (46.10) and ranked first in the nation in the 200 meters with a 20.9. Benny was named to the All-American team. In the US Army he won European titles in the 100 meters and 200 meters. He was a tank commander in Kosovo and team chief in the Iraq war. Benny was a graduate from the Leavenworth War College. Currently, he is Army Campaign Plan Integrator at U.S Army Forces Command in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
