Phil was the 1950 Reading HS Class President and captain of the football team. He is a graduate of Yale University where he started as quarterback. He played three years for the Greg Post Legion baseball team. Phil won the Astor Theater award as Reading High’s MVP in football. He also was the MVP in baseball at Yale and received the Nealy-Mallory Award as a top student athlete. Phil was the leading player on Yale’s first undefeated baseball team and later played in the Boston Red Sox farm system. Phil was a district manager for Bell Telephone for 34 years.
