Betty completed her 34th season as head field hockey coach at Kutztown U in 2013 with an overall record of 344-257-15 record. She was named PSAC Coach of the year 5 times and her 2007 team became the first KU woman’s program to attain a No. 1 NCAA ranking. In 2004 and 2005 her teams combined for 29 wins and back-to-back trips to the PSAC finals. In 1997 her team advanced to the NCAA Division II title game for the first time in KU history and they won three PAIAW conference crowns. Wesner also coached KU women’s lacrosse from 1984-1990. Prior to her collegiate career she taught and coached at Twin Valley and led them to a county title in 1975. She is a 1971 graduate of West Chester University.
