John Moyer

John was the first certified Athletic trainer in Berks County starting at Wilson in 1979. He worked 36 years as head trainer for the Bulldogs. He directed a highly successful Student Trainer’s Program. He was the Trainer for the Big 33 football game. He was Pennsylvania’s HS Athletic Trainer Consultant to the PIAA. John was named Sports Person of the Year in 2006. He was the President of the Pa. Athletic Trainers’ Society (PATS) from 2014 to 2016. He was awarded the PATS Service Award and Distinguished Merit Award. He authored an article on heat illness that appeared in National Trainers magazine. Doc was inducted into the Wilson Sports Hall of Fame (2009). He was considered by many to be the Dean of Athletic Training in Berks County.
