Chris Riegel

Outstanding gymnast who graduated from Holy Name High in 1982 and University of Nebraska in 1986. Chris won 7 gold medals in PIAA State championships. He was inducted into the Holy Name Hall of Fame in 2006. He is member of Nebraska’s NCAA championship team in 1982 and 1983. He received 11 NCAA All American honors. Chris was a member of the USA Olympic team in 1984. He was world number one ranked senior in ’78 & ’79. USA National vaulting champion twice. He received twelve perfect 10 scores and won 17 international medals representing our nation throughout the world. Chris was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine. He served as the National Kidney Foundation Director for 10 years. He has received a personal commendation from Pope John Paul II.
