Mike Distasio

Mike was an outstanding baseball player at Oley Valley High School in the mid 1980’s. He was a leading member on back-to- back PIAA state baseball championship teams in 1984 and 1985. He was named All-Berks three years in a row for Oley and was the Berks Legion, Region 2, State Legion Most Valuable Player. Mike was selected to play in the Olympic Sports Festival in Houston in 1986, as the East team’s starting second baseman. A Reading Eagle poll named him the best second baseman in the last 50 years in Berks County high school baseball. After his very successful baseball career he went on to compete with the World Championship Reading Sunners softball team.
