Emmanuel Jacobs

Born in Port Chester, NY, Jacobs attended East Stroudsburg University before coming to the Reading School District. He began his career at Reading as the phys-ed instructor at Southern Junior High and then moved on to Reading High School as the faculty manager. He became a four-sport coach at Reading, guiding the track and field, cross country, swimming and baseball teams at the “Castle”. Manny expanded his career from Reading High School, directing an expanding athletic program as director of physical education for the entire Reading School District. Jacobs was an outstanding administrator, and as the athletic director at Reading High School, was regarded as one of the finest athletic figures in eastern Pennsylvania. Jacobs also served as the eastern Pennsylvania director of the U.S. Civil Defense Organization during WWII.
