A graduate of Shillington High School, Betty was a competitor in golf for 46 years. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg and graduated from Harcum in Bryn Mawr, PA. The former Wyomissing resident captured the Berks County Women’s title 31 times and the Central Pennsylvania Women’s crown 14 times. Betty’s two biggest victories were State Women’s Championships (1950 & 1965). Over the years, she served as president, vice president, treasurer and secretary of the Central Pennsylvania Women’s Golf Association. She was a member of the board of the Berks County Women’s Golf Association and owned and operated a children’s shop in Shillington until her retirement (1969).
