Jack played basketball for the champion YMCA Celtics (1923-24) but is most renowned as a basketball official for 30 years, serving as Berks County Basketball Officials Association president for 21 years. He was also active in numerous other basketball officials associations and was president of the Pennsylvania Chapter of Intercollegiate Association of Basketball Officials. Jack was a member of the first Reading Municipal Memorial Stadium Commission and won the Central Catholic High Booster Award (1955). He was an organizer of the Reading-Berks Basketball Old-Timers, Inc. (now the RBBA). The Reading-Berks Basketball Old-Timers conducted a scholarship double-header tournament each season bearing his name. Jack was awarded an honorary life membership into the Inter- collegiate Association of Basketball Officials Association in New York, NY.
