Albright College football and Potsklan had been synonymous for 27 years. His Lions teams once had the nation’s longest winning streak (21) (1959-61), with his 1960 team. During that season, the former All-East end and co-captain at Penn State was named NCAA District II Coach of the Year (1960). He captured the Coach of the Year award six times and the Lions captured seven Middle-Atlantic Conference North titles during his tenure as head coach. John’s Albright teams participated in the NCAA divisional playoffs twice (1975-76). Potsklan also coached baseball at Albright College. His club won MAC North titles twice (1966-67), and he later received the Small College District II Coach of the Year award.
