Paul Hildenbrand

Named the Outstanding Berks County Athlete (1948) while he was in the process of dominating the tennis scene in Berks County for more than two decades. He won the Berks County tournament 18 times, the Reading tournament 16 times and the Reading Open 10 times. Paul was also the Pennsylvania clay court champion (1952). Over his career, Hildebrand won 72 singles titles, 48 doubles titles and six mixed doubles titles. He played in the National Indoors tournament (1938) and the National Grass Court Championships at Forest Hills (1954) during his tennis career.
