Born in Reading on January 20, 1917, Henry's first job as a golf professional was at the Windsor Country Club in Windsor, VT (1937). That was followed by jobs as a professional at Phoenixville Country Club, Phoenixville, PA (1938-41); Susquehanna Country Club in Sunbury, PA (1947); Tully-Secane Country Club, Secane, PA (1948-50); Berkleigh Country Club, Kutztown, PA (1951-75) and Moselem Springs Golf Club, Fleetwood, PA (1976). As a golfer, he played on the winter P.G.A. tour (1950-60) and the Caribbean tour (1960-64). He was a P.G.A. life member. He won the Philadelphia P.G.A. Championship (1949-53, 1958), was runner-up in the National P.G.A. Championship (1950) and played in the Masters Tournament (1950-51). Hank also won the Tucson Open (1952), the Pennsylvania Open Championship (1954 & 1962), the Jamaica Open (1962), the Salisbury, MD Open (1968) and the Philadelphia P.G.A. Seniors Championship (1972-73, 1975). He holds course records at Plymouth Country Club (1963), Lehigh Country Club (1964), the Berkleigh Country Club (1965) and New Smyrna Country Club (1962). Williams is an inductee of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (2001).
