Jodi was associate with the renowned Parkettes Gymnastic Club in Allentown. The pioneer performer in Berks County gymnastics, Jodi became the youngest member inducted into the Berks Chapter of the Pa Sports HOF at the age of 26 (1986). She and Michael Matz became the first Berks members of the U.S. Olympic team since Gene Venzke competed in the 1936 Olympic Games. A veteran of several international competitions as an underclassman at Exeter High School, she qualified as an alternate for the U.S. Olympic team at the U.S. trials in Los Angeles, CA for the Olympics in Montreal (1976). As an alternate, she performed her routines before the competition, with the judges using such performances as a basis for their scoring in the finals. She retired soon after the Olympics and has continued in the sport as a coach. She was named to the Executive Board of the U.S. Gymnastics Federation in 1980. Currently known as USA Gymnastics, it is the national governing body for gymnastics in the United States .
