Tom McCarthy

Since opening the Berks Gymnastic Academy in 1975, Tom has achieved success at the highest levels of gymnastics, coaching state, national, and international champions. He served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s Team that competed in the World Cup Championships in Budapest, Hungary (1983), the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California (1984), and the World Championships in Montreal (1985). He also coached U.S. men’s and women’s teams that participated in exhibitions and clinics in Argentina and Brazil, as well as at numerous national and international invitational competitions. McCarthy has played a major role in keeping the Berks Gymnastic Academy consistently at or near the top of the national rankings and has been instrumental in producing elite-level gymnasts, including many who earned college scholarships.
