In baseball, Paul was named All-Berks and helped the team win a division title and tie for another. In Legion baseball, he played on the All-State team, was named Berks MVP, and helped Kutztown tie for a Berks title. He attended Moravian College for one year and started on the basketball team. He continued his soccer career with the Reading Amerks, winning the team MVP one year. He was a referee on the scholastic and college levels for 25 years. He played five seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system and was named team MVP while playing for Elmira.
