A fixture in Berks sports as an athlete and/or coach for nearly 50 years. Bob earned 11 varsity letters in soccer, baseball, and basketball at Amity High School (1941–44) and was named the top athlete three straight years. He also earned five varsity letters in baseball and soccer at East Stroudsburg and served as the co-captain of the soccer team. He continued to compete in baseball and basketball on the rec level, winning several titles and honors. He coached soccer, basketball, golf, and baseball at Brandywine (1955–66), then basketball and golf at Muhlenberg (1966–88), compiling a 660–374–26 overall record, including four Berks and 18 division titles. He had a 323–202 record in basketball and directed Muhlenberg to the Berks basketball title (1969). He served as athletic director at Brandywine and was president of the Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association. Bob has also been on the governing board of the Reading–Berks Basketball Old-Timers.
