Recognized by the American Bowling Congress as the only bowler in the history of the sport to roll consecutive 300 games twice, Al bowled consecutive perfect games for the first time in the Limpus Open at Laurel Lanes on March 13, 1982. His second perfect double came in the Berks Major League at Bowl-O-Rama on February 1, 1985. During his career, he has rolled 16 perfect games, two three-game series of 800, and more than 300 three-game series of 700. He won the Berks Amateur title (1974), the Limpus Open title (1982), where he set a Berks record with a ten-game block of 2,696, and was named EPBA Sportsman of the Year (1982).
