A graduate of Wilson High School (1977) led Wilson to the Berks County Basketball Championship and was a unanimous All-County selection as a senior. He was a four-year letterman on the Wilson golf team, which compiled an overall record of 50-7 during those years, and was captain of the golf team that won the Berks County Golf Championship and placed fourth in the county golf tournament (1976-77). Bob went on to become a four-year starter in basketball at Albright College, where he became the all-time leader in field goals scored in one season (233) (1979-80) and finished fourth on the Lion’s career scoring list (1,852). He was selected to the All-MAC North team three times, named ECAC Division III and NABC District I Player of the Year, and MAC North Division MVP as a senior (1981). While at Albright College, he won the Ron Regar Award as MVP (1979 & 1981), was the recipient of the John Kozlowski Award for top golfer (1979) and was inducted into the Albright College Athletics HOF in 1997 subsequent to induction.
