Longtime major league baseball scout (35 years). Featured for his work with the Pittsburgh Pirates in USA Today. Member of the Maryland Hall of Fame. Placed over 250 players in the major leagues including Kent Tekulve, Cal Ripken, Jr., Dave Johnson, Mike Bielecki and Don Money. Conducted the Montgomery, Maryland Summer Baseball camps for twenty-five years. Graduate of Mt. Penn High School. Signed by the Philadelphia Athletics (1939). Played minor league baseball with Hamilton, Petersburg and Saginaw. Managed Erie in Class A League. Scouted for St. Louis Cardinals. Chief scout for Pittsburgh Pirates (1975-1987)
