First team All-State fullback for Reading High (1967). Scholastic All-American. MVP of Central Penn Football League. Rushed for 1,629 yards (school record) and scored 20 TD’s in senior year. Top gridder in Berks County (1967). Won Class of 1967 award as top athlete at Reading High School. Twice named to All-East-Penn Baseball League first team. Top hitter in 1967 in East Penn League (.365). Led Gregg Post baseball hitters (.491 average). Drafted by the Detroit Tigers. Played for the University of Maryland football team – rushed for 650 yards as sophomore. Named top gridder for Terrapins by student body. Second team All-A.C.C. (1969). Coached at University of Maryland, Albright, Reading and Muhlenberg high schools.
