Olympic gold medal winner in gymnastics for the team that won the Olympic title (1984). Graduate of the University of Nebraska. Two-time gymnastic All-American for the Cornhuskers. U.S. National junior gymnastic titlist in five different years. Winner of the George Thornber Award – AAU National Junior Athlete of the Year (1976). Won seven PIAA state titles in three years. Won 5 of 7 individual gymnastic titles in state meet (1978). Made “Faces in the Crowd” in Sports Illustrated (March, 1978). Member of the American National Gymnastic Team that toured South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, Russia, England, East Germany and China over a span of six years. #1 gymnast for the University of Nebraska (1985). His team won five consecutive NCAA gymnastic team titles. An academic All-American with a GPA of 3.77 at graduation.
