Reportedly has the longest active tennis career of any athlete in Berks County history. Has been in competition since 1947 for a total of 47 years. Currently ranked #14 in the USA and #3 in the Middle States Division of U.S.T.A. for men 70-years-old and over. In a career spanning six decades, he has been in the finals in over 200 tournaments, winning 125. Won the Reading and Berks County titles (1958-60, 1964, 1966 and 1970). Won the Doubles County title (1964, 1966). Achieved national ranking in various age competitions (1975, 1981, 1984, 1988, 1991 and 1993). Ranked #1 in Lehigh Valley ten times. Won the “65 and Over” Ontario Senior Championship (1989) and competed in the “70 and Over” Division (1984). Reached the finals in 57 tournaments, winning 35 of them, in Seniors Competition in Canada since 1984. Middle Atlantic Senior Ranking Chairman for the past 21 years. On the Board of Directors of Lehigh Valley and Berks County Tennis Associations. Defeated Philadelphia’s John McGrath, ranked #2 in 70-Plus singles (1993).
