First player from Holy Name High School to be named Division 3 All-American in basketball at Franklin and Marshall College. Named to Reading Eagle-Times All-County First Team his senior year at Holy Name High School. MVP of the Daniel Boone Christmas Tournament (1976). Leading scorer and rebounder for Holy Name (1976-77). The 6'5" center also led the Blue Jays to a 15-5 record (1975-76). Started as a freshman in basketball at Franklin and Marshall College. MVP and captain of F&M basketball team (1981). First team E.C.A.C. (1981). First team All-Middle Atlantic and was second best rebounder in F&M basketball history (1981). Team record during his F&M career was 87-25 with records of 27-5 (1978-79) and 26-3 (1980-81). Finished his career at F&M with 1,361 points, scoring 379 points (1978-79) and 362 points (1980-81). Led F&M to 16 consecutive victories to win MAC title (1980-81) and a third place finish in NCAA Division III playoffs (1981). Named to All-East Team by NABC Coaches Association (1979-80). Led Diplomats to MAC title and Division III Final Four at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois (1978-79). Academic All-American. Named to F&M’s Hall of Fame (1993). F&M coach Glenn Robinson stated: “Dennis was a good student and great sportsman. He was always exemplary with his conduct and play. He is truly deserving of Hall of Fame honors.”
