One of the outstanding wrestling coaches in Berks County high school history. Reading High School graduate (1965). Personal wrestling record at Reading of 37-11 and was twice Sectional Champion. Attended Lees-McRae Jr. College where he had a wrestling record of 27-6, North Carolina State (7-8 record), and Kutztown University (9-6 record). Teacher at Brandywine Heights High School for 33 years. Head wrestling coach at Brandywine Heights for 30 years and 2 years at Wilson High School. Named “Who’s Who Among USA Teachers.” His wrestling team record at Brandywine Heights is 268-70-3 and at Wilson 22-15, for an overall won/loss record of 431-172-4. Named District III Coach-of-the-Year twice and Berks County Coach-of-the-Year seven times. Honorary District III All-Star coach twice. Won seven Berks County team titles and was runner-up three times. Won 18 Berks Divisional titles and 21 AA Sectional team titles. Won three District III titles and has been one of the top five teams seven times. His accomplishments among Berks County schools include 98 Berks County Champions (Individual), 147 District III Qualifiers (Individual), 24 District III Champions (Individual), 64 State Qualifiers (Individual), 28 State medalists, 10 State runners-up, and one State champion (Individual). Lovello has coached 28 100-match winners, the most of any team in Pennsylvania.
