Mike Heller

Voted outstanding athlete at Reading Central Catholic (1968). He lettered four years in golf and was a two-letter man in baseball and basketball for the Cardinals. He was an American Legion All-Star shortstop. A varsity golfer at Albright College (1970-72) and was MVP for the Lions. Four-time Eagle-Times golf titlist (point series) in the 1990s. He has won the Reading Country Club championship four times (1975, 1981, 1987, 1998), the Golden Oaks Country Club championship (1995), BCGA Partners title (1976 & 1990), BCGA Match Play championship (1996-97, 1999), BCGA Amateur title (1990 & 1997), the Hawley Quier Memorial championship at Moselem Springs (1978-79, 1983, 1990), nine WBCGA Mixed championships (1979-83, 1990-92, 1994), WCPGA Mixed titles (1975, 1986, 1989), the Reading Country Club Match Play championship (1984, 1986, 1990-91, 1997, 1999) and the GOCC Match Play title (1996). In GAP competition, he was on team champions four times (1976-79) and a Suburban League title team (1979). He won the WGAP Mixed championship and the Powel Cup (1991). Mike is the BCGA treasurer and serves on the Tournament Committee (1994-present).
