Richard “Dick” Cosgrave Football and baseball player at Reading High School (1948-50). He started on Reading baseball teams that were a combined 44-1 over three seasons and was their top batter with a .353 average when they won their first District III title (1950). Named East-Penn League MVP and did not commit an error at shortstop over three seasons. Top Gregg Post Legion batter (1949-50). Four-year starter and captain of the West Chester University baseball team with a career batting average of .410. Played on the US Army softball team that won two European titles (1954-55) and led the team in hitting with a .412 average. Played on the Zeswitz baseball team that won a Berks title and had a .354 average. A Berks County football official for 16 years. He is a retired Reading School District administrator. At the time of induction he served on the Executive Board of the Berks chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
