Led Mount Penn High School to the Class B title game vs. Irwin with a 27-1 record (1954). Scored 555 points in 28 games, a Berks County record at the time, and set a single-game scoring mark of 35 points. Named to first-team All-State basketball team in Class B. Started three years as a 6'8" center for Lafayette College and was a 1,000 point career scorer. Averaged 19 points and 17 rebounds per game during one season (1958) and set a single-game scoring record with 47 points. Played in the NCAA Tournament (1957), NIT Tournament (1956) and was MVP of the Richmond Invitational as Lafayette beat Penn State University for the title (1956). Inducted into the Lafayette Sports Hall of Fame (1985). Drafted by the Cincinnati Royals (1958). Played for the Wilkes-Barre Barons (1959-60) and the Allentown Jets (1961-66). He was a player/coach for the Jets and led them to two titles and was named Coach of the Year in the Eastern Pro League. Bob was named to the Eagle-Times Top 50 Players in last 50 Years list.
