Graduate and star athlete at West Hazleton High School, where he captained the football, basketball and baseball teams. Named to the Eastern Conference All-Star Team in each sport. Named the Anthracite Region’s Athlete of the Year (1955). He was an outstanding football and baseball player at Albright College (1955-59). A top-flight quarterback, he was ranked fifth in the nation in passing. As a sophomore, he was an All-League quarterback and led the Middle-Atlantic Region in total offense. Named MVP (1958) and received the Lanshe Award as outstanding back for the Lions (1959). During his career at Albright, the newspapers estimated that he passed for 1.17 miles in an era that did not feature passing. During his senior year, he was named to the first-team Little All-American team. Frank coached ten seasons of varsity basketball at Exeter High School and was a dedicated assistant football coach for the Eagles for 38 years, which is believed to be a Berks County record. His versatility extends to the field of the arts as he supports various local theater and musical institutions.
