Dave McCoy

Past Athletic Director at Governor Mifflin High School where he was voted the top Athletic Director in the District III ten-county area (2000). Wendell Hower, District III Executive Director, cited McCoy as one of the top A.D.s in the state who oversaw and scheduled 52 senior and junior high school teams for the Mustangs. Dave played on three Tri-County League football championship teams while at Governor Mifflin (1961-63). He was an All-Berks fullback (1963) and played on Mifflin’s track team. His career ended with a double compound fracture of his left leg. He was a Ursinus College graduate and Intramural Director. He was an assistant football coach at Trappe High School in Collegeville (1967). Employed by Governor Mifflin High School for 33 years, he was also a head coach for the junior high football and boys tennis teams. He served on the District III planning and Intra-Council committees. Dave has received national recognition for his work with NIAA (National Interscholastic American Athletic Administrators). Instructor for District III CAA (Certification for Athletic Administrators) and Chairman of PASADA (Pennsylvania Athletic Directors Association). At the time of induction he served on the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Berks County Chapter) Executive Committee.
