Named Outstanding Athlete at Reading High School (1946). A three-sport athlete who played on the Gregg Post Legion baseball State Championship team. A three-year starter in football for Temple University. Played on the All-Navy football team at Quantico. Played soccer for the Reading German- American club that won the Philadelphia Suburban Soccer League title. Coached football, basketball and track at Cornwall, Upper Moreland, Hatboro-Horsham and William Tennent high schools. President of the Inter-County League (1974-82). Principal at Wyomissing High School (1974-82) and New Hope High School (1970-74, 1982-89).
