A scoring leader in Reading-Berks Recreational Basketball leagues history. During his 20-year career, he played for 14 different teams in six leagues. He won 17 scoring titles and his teams won seven city titles over 12 seasons starting in 1936. Reading sports writer “Doc” Silva cited him as scoring over 12,000 points over the course of his career. He scored 392 points in 14 games (28 PPG) for Clover Farms (1945-46) and 402 points in 13 games (30.9 PPG) for the Olivet Boys Club (1955-56). Danny also played baseball, softball and bowling. He worked for the Olivet Boys Club for 19 years, including six years as their executive director. He is the father of five children, including daughter, Diane, who was the first career 1,000 point scorer (1,372 points for Central Catholic High School girls basketball) in Berks County history (1962).
