Completed 30 years of basketball officiating at all levels, including collegiate (1999). Honored by BCBOA & IAABO for over a quarter century of distinguished service. Officiated the Berks, District III and PIAA finals games (1999). Over his career, he officiated eight Berks County and three District III finals. His playing career in basketball began under Max Missbach and continued at Reading High School during the Bill Horine era, with his team winning two Central Penn titles and playing in the Eastern state final (1956-57). He was a starting guard for the Red Knights during his senior year, graduating in 1958. He has served on the Reading-Berks Basketball Old-Timers Association as a Board member.
