A letter winner in football, basketball and baseball at Wilson High School during the early 1950s. In baseball, he played centerfield and set records that are still in the all-time Wilson High School Top 6 including: hits, at-bats, runs scored, walks, stolen bases, doubles and triples. He batted .556 which was the top average in the Western Section of the Berks League (1953). On the gridiron, he was the team captain and running back, scoring sixty points during his career. He was a starter and the top defensive player on Wilson’s basketball squad. He was a graduate of West Point, where he played baseball, and had a very successful army career culminating in becoming a four-star general and second in command to General Schwartzkopf during Desert Storm. He later co-authored a book about Desert Storm with Tom Clancy. He is now retired, living in Virginia and doing consulting work.
