Field Hockey

Graduated from Governor Mifflin High School and was named the Outstanding Senior Athlete (1962). Sue starred in field hockey and basketball at Governor Mifflin. She attended East Stroudsburg University, where she played field hockey, tennis, basketball and lacrosse. In her senior year, she captained the field hockey team and was named a collegiate All-Star. After college graduation, she played for the Reading-Berks field hockey team. While teaching at Governor Mifflin, she coached the field hockey team to three county titles (1967-69). In addition, she coached varsity basketball for three years and varsity softball for four years. Susan taught at Wyomissing, where she coached the Spartan field hockey team for eight years, winning two divisional titles (1982-83). She became the first female Athletic Director in Berks County while coaching the Central Catholic field hockey team (1989). Her overall field hockey coaching record is 250-131-39.
