All Around

An outstanding athlete at Sinking Spring High School, now part of the Wilson school district. He scored 50 points in one game for the Sinking Spring basketball team and led them to a Berks Western Division title (1948). He was also the leading hitter on the baseball team. Dewey went on to play varsity basketball at East Stroudsburg State College. Following college, he had a 25-year teaching and coaching career at Conrad Weiser High School. He was a basketball official for 50 years. He is an accomplished golfer and has won many area tournaments over the past three decades.
