Was a four-year starter for Womelsdorf High School (now part of the Conrad Weiser school district) in baseball, basketball and soccer. In baseball, he led all players in the Berks League with a .571 batting average. In basketball, he had the highest score during one game in Berks County with 63 points (1956). Adam led the Robesonia Darts amateur basketball team to a 53-game win streak and three county titles. He was a three-time winner of the MVP Award in the Berks YMCA basketball league. He is also an accomplished bowler, participating in 34 ABC tournaments with a single game high of 299 and a series of 768.
