Kevin is a 1970 graduate of Holy Name High School and a 1974 graduate with honors of the University of Notre Dame. He was the valedictorian of his Alvernia University MBA class. Kevin was the starting point guard on the 1970 Holy Name PCIAA State Championship basketball team which went 27-2 while also winning the Philadelphia Suburban Catholic League and the Allentown Diocese Championships. In the year 2000, his Holy Name team was named one of the top ten teams in Berks County history by the sports writers of the Reading Eagle newspaper. He began his 40 year coaching career by leading the Sacred Heart CYO boys basketball team to three Berks County titles during his eight year tenure. He went on to coach the Holy Name High School girls basketball team for seven years while leading them to 117 wins while advancing to seven District 3 tournaments and three state tournaments. He left Holy Name in 1989 to start the women’s basketball program at Alvernia University where he coached for 25 years. During his career at Alvernia, he led his teams to a Keystone Athletic Conference championship, 7 ECAC tournaments and one title, and five Pennsylvania Athletic Conference titles. Alvernia qualified for six NCAA tournaments during their 18 year membership in NCAA Division 3. His overall record of 440- 220 (67%) is the most wins of any college basketball coach in Berks County history. His 6 NCAA tournament appearances are the most of any local college coach. He founded the West Reading Girls Summer Basketball League in 1982 and was its director for 25 years. He also founded the highly successful West Reading Women’s College Summer Basketball League which he ran for 20 years. Kevin received the Berks County Basketball Officials Outstanding Community Service Award in 1997. He has been inducted into the Holy Name High School Hall of Fame, the Berks County Basketball Hall of Fame, and the Pennsylvania State Hall of Fame Berks County Chapter. His 1970 Holy Name State Championship team was also inducted into the Pennsylvania State Hall of Fame. He was honored by Alvernia University by receiving their Distinguished Alumni Award. Kevin was a vice president in the chemical industry for 20 years, a savvy investor in real estate and the stock market, and a finance professor at Alvernia. He and his wife Jeannette were married for 42 years.
