All Around

A four-sport athlete at Conrad Weiser High School and Rochelle High School, Illinois. At both schools he earned ten varsity letters in football, soccer and baseball. He matriculated at Albright College, where he lettered in football and baseball for four years, captained both teams and was a first team All Mid-Atlantic Conference team selection in both sports. He received the Albright Athletic Achievement Award (1968). Steve continued his education at Springfield College, where he received his masters degree and at Temple University where he received his Doctorate. He coached at Conrad Weiser for over 20 years in football, baseball and softball. As the softball coach, he led the Lady Scouts to 57 consecutive wins and posted an overall record of 261-71. His squad won seven sectional titles, three Berks County championships, three District championships and a second and third place finish in the state championships. He coached the Albright College softball team to a 68-37 record. He has been inducted into the Conrad Weiser and Albright College Halls of Fame. Steve retired as Director of Athletics at Albright College (2008) after having been a major influence in additions to the college’s physical plant.
