Basketball

A three-year letterman in both basketball and baseball at Kutztown Area High School. Named their most outstanding basketball player (1956). He was a first team All-Berks County selection and received All- State honorable mention. During his junior and senior years, he scored 677 points and averaged 23.3 PPG in his senior year. He received a full scholarship to play basketball at Muhlenberg College where he was the leading scorer during his junior and senior years. He joined the Muhlenberg Select Basketball Circle by scoring more than 400 points and pulling down more than 300 rebounds during his senior year and received third team Collegiate All-State honors. He served in the military (1963-64) where he scored 559 points and was named the MVP for the Southern Area of the German Command. Ron played in the Reading City-County League (1964-72) and was among the top ten leading scorers for five straight seasons, averaging 18 to 23 PPG. Inducted into the Muhlenberg College Hall of Fame (1993) and the Kutztown Hall of Fame (2005).
