An outstanding athlete at Muhlenberg High School where she was a member of the basketball, track and cross country teams. In Winter track, the squad won the state indoor championship while Ann was selected MVP and placed fourth in the shot put. In Spring track, she was captain and selected to the Berks County All-Star team, establishing school records in the shot put, discus and javelin. She established a County record in the discus, won the District III AAA discus title and placed second at the PIAA State Championships in discus. Ann enrolled at Shippensburg University where she was awarded a track scholarship. She was on the PA Athletic Conference championship team, placing fifth in the discus (1983). The following year, the track team won another PAC championship, with Ann taking first place in the discus and setting a school record that still stands today. She became an NCAA Division II qualifier (1984). She captained the 1985 track team that won a third PAC championship, placing third in the discus and finishing in ninth place in the NCAA Division II championships. At the time of induction, Ann was a VP at Smith Barney. In addition to her athletic achievements, Ann, who is battling cancer, has given years of service to the Berks Ballet and countless Lance Armstrong races and projects for cancer awareness. She cycles over 4,000 miles a year. Along with her 50 other teammates, she has helped raise over $25,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
